Tanya joined the Taylor’d Ergonomics team in April, 2006. She graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree (Co-op) and has a Masters of Science in Kinesiology. Following graduation she was employed as a Clinical Kinesiologist and spent several years at the University of Waterloo as an Ergonomics Project Coordinator, Teaching Assistant, Lab Coordinator and Project Manager/ Instructional Designer.
Tanya manages the following projects at Taylor’d Ergonomics:
Ergonomist for a red meat processing facility, a poultry processing facility, and another food manufacturer. These ongoing projects provide an opportunity to work on physical demands descriptions, ergonomics assessments and implementation efforts for ergonomics initiatives. She manages multiple projects simultaneously, and reports project status to the client on a regular basis.
Ergonomics student supervision. One of Tanya’s clients uses ergonomics co-op students on a regular basis. Tanya selects, trains and oversees the students. This involves weekly feedback, responsibility for report quality control, and guidance for challenging projects.
Return-to-work. Tanya is often requested to provide an evaluation of the fit between a worker’s restrictions and a specific job. These projects lead to successful resolution of return-to-work issues.
Tanya has work experience in the following industries: electronics manufacturing, food processing, tubing, injection moulding, exhaust manufacturing, health care, injection moulding, office, poultry, sewing, and turbine.
