Amber Alpaugh-Bishop
Ergonomist
| Amber joined Taylor’d Ergonomics in 2000, after completing a contract with Ford Motor Company, and, prior to that, working with the University of Waterloo Ergonomics and Safety Consulting Services. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (Co-op) from University of Waterloo in 1998, and attained her Canadian professional certification in 2002.
Amber has managed the following projects: On-site ergonomist for a brewery and a poultry processor. Amber completes physical demands descriptions, and coordinates and tracks implementation efforts for ergonomics initiatives. She is also actively involved in return-to-work initiatives. She facilitates training, performs an annual internal ergonomics audit, and has assisted in preparing for corporate audits. Ergo Design Guideline development. Amber was involved in the development of Taylor’d Ergonomics’ detailed ergonomics design guideline. She has also customised and delivered training on this guideline for a group of engineers at a high-tech manufacturing facility. Customisation involved the development of case studies from the client site to allow participants to practice applying each of nine selected design guidelines. Ergonomist for a distribution centre. Amber has worked with this company periodically for over 4 years. She maintains a database of physical demands descriptions, and provides office and warehouse ergonomics support as needed. Office ergonomics assessment process development. Amber documented the steps required to complete an office assessment, and trained employees to use a standard process, using a customised database for data entry and storage.
Amber has experience in conducting ergonomics assessments and training in in the following industries: adhesive, agricultural, automotive assembly, bearings, brewery, call center, community care, electronics, exhaust manufacturing, foam, food processing, health care, high-tech, injection moulding, medical, office, poultry processing, weld wire, warehousing, wood products. Amber is responsible for completing PDDs, office and industrial ergonomics assessments, and facilitating training. She has managed several large scale PDD and assessment projects. Amber has also attained training in instructional techniques, and customises and provides training for our clients. |
